Are you struggling with the storage space in your bathroom cabinet? You’re not alone!

Today I’m sharing my best tips to help you organize and maximize every inch of storage under your bathroom sink, making it easier to find what you need when you need it.

Keep the Big Picture in Mind

1. Utilize Vertical Space by using Stackable Acrylic Drawers – Stackable Wire Mesh Drawer Organizer

2. Should use Bins and Baskets to contain objects and keep them within their categories

3. Maximize Cabinet Doors

4. Use Drawer Organizers

5. Consider Lazy Susans

A Strategy to Help You Organize:

  • Prep the area by taking everything out

  • Purge to dispose of items that are old, you don’t need, or want anymore

  • Categorize by grouping similar items to determine the size of storage containers needed and estimate the placement of them in the space

  • Personalize the storage containers you select based on your needs and style. Label drawers and containers if you can’t see the content

  • Put Back all items making sure you only keep what you need

Few Observations:

  • Select materials that suit your style and bathroom environment. Options include plastic, wicker, metal, or fabric.  Baskets are not practical because they are difficult to clean and many of them are bulkier, therefore, take more valuable space in small cabinets.

  • Important note- most acrylic drawers are not as deep as the cabinet and will leave open space behind them. Use this space to store my backstock of feminine hygiene items, cotton swabs, etc. that occasionally will be replenished.

  • Organize items into categories like hair care, skin care, first aid, cleaning supplies, etc.

  • If you can’t see inside your bins and baskets label them so everyone knows where to put items.

Few More Ideas You Can Try:

  • Adhesive Hooks and Racks: Attach adhesive hooks or small racks to the inside of the door for hanging items like hair tools, brushes, or washcloths.

  • Magnetic Strips: Install a magnetic strip to hold metal tools like tweezers, scissors, or nail clippers.

  • Small Baskets or Bins: Mount small baskets or bins to the door to hold items like lotions, creams, or small bottles.

  • Towel Bars or Rods: Attach a small towel bar or rod to the door to hang hand towels or washcloths.

  • Clear Pocket Organizers: Use clear pocket organizers to store smaller items like makeup, toothbrushes, or toiletries. This keeps everything visible and easy to access.

  • Spice Racks: Repurpose spice racks or small shelving units to store bottles and jars of bathroom products.

  • Caddy or Tray Systems: Install caddy or tray systems for cabinet doors to keep items organized and accessible.

  • Wire Shelves: Use wire shelves that can be screwed into the door to create extra storage space.
